Our Vision

Carolina Commuter Solutions is a non-profit organization founded to promote efficient transportation strategies that reduce traffic congestion within our communities, improve the overall work experience and personal health of workers, and advance participation in measurable contributions to a cleaner and safer environment.

Carolina Commuter Solutions is concerned with improving South Carolina’s energy independence and its adoption of sustainable energy driven transportation systems, and therefore is dedicated to developing and promoting innovative products and services that provide commuters with knowledge and opportunity to save time, energy, and money.

Carolina Commuter Solutions, through its website carolinacommuter.com, will offer commuters the opportunity to assess their approach to personal transportation, and will promote appealing, functional and viable alternatives to driving alone, including automated ride share matching services to members seeking to carpool.

Our Team

Minimize

Spearheading both technical and business interests for Carolina Commuter Solutions is Executive Director Nelson Ohl. Mr. Ohl demonstrates a keen awareness of the need to think practically and act responsibly in confronting the region's developing transportation challenges.

Carolina Commuter Solutions exists today because of the generous efforts of Robert and Pam Jenkins, co-presidents of QBE, a premier South Carolina business consulting firm. Together Robert and Pam have contributed countless hours developing the corporation's founding documents, as well as, helping Mr. Ohl navigate the state registration and Federal IRS 501(c)(3) designation application processes.

Contributions of the executive board members, Mary Ohl and Jeff Kopish have been invaluable during the company's start up activities.  Carolina Commuter Solutions plans to expand the board of directors in the latter part of 2009.
